Be The Light Foundation of Grand Island, NE presents ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training - OPEN TO PUBLIC
ASIST 11 Workshop English - 2 Day
A 2-day ASIST training is being held @ Tom Dinsdale Automotive Conference Room in Grand Island, NE. 2nd level of the main building. PLEASE PARK ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE LOT.
Date/Time: Thursday, May 16th and Friday May 17thth from 8:00-5:00, with BOTH FULL DAYS REQUIRED.
**If there times you know you won't be able to give your full attention (scheduled meetings, appointments, etc.), perhaps you'll need to look for a later course.
$50 is REQUIRED and DUE UPON REGISTRATION to save your seat. This training is valued at $250, it's supplemented by the following sponsors: Be The Light Foundation Grand Island.
ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—ASIST can be learned and used by anyone.
In the course of the two-day workshop, ASIST participants learn to:
• Understand the ways personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions
• Provide guidance and suicide first-aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs
• Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to implement it
• Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the community at large
• Recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention, including life-promotion and self-care
All materials and light snacks will be provided. 1 hour will be allowed for lunch. Our training location is close to several restaurants. You may also bring a packed lunch. IF you have specific dietary requirements, please bring your own meals and snacks.
Dress in layers to allow for comfort!
**Continued Education Units: CEU's will be available at an additional cost of $65 (Not included or affiliated with the original $50 registration fee) and are provided by LivingWorks post-training, once the trainee has provided proof of attendance for both days. ADDITIONAL CEU INFO WILL BE PROVIDED AT TRAINING.
***Cancellation Policy:
If cancellation is received by Be The Light via email to Sandy or Janelle more than 10 days prior to the start date of the training; the course fee will be refunded, less a $5 non-refundable administration fee.
If cancellation is received by Be The Light via email to Sandy or Janelle within 10 days of the start date of the training, NO REFUND will be issued, HOWEVER, credit will be given to be used towards a future course.
NO SHOWS on Day 1 of the training without notification will not receive a refund nor credit towards another training.
