Half day suicide-alert helper training
safeTALK Training - English
The safeTALK workshop (4 hours) is a practical and interactive training course which has been designed to support participants to:
- Move beyond the tendency to miss, dismiss and avoid suicide
- Dispel myths and answer participants 'wonderings' about suicide
- Recognise the signs (invitations) that a person is struggling and may have thoughts of suicide
- Apply the four steps of TALK (talk, ask about suicide, listen to the person's story and connect them to a KeepSafe Connection) in a hands-on skills practice and development scenario
- Explore self-care strategies.
You can expect to leave safeTALK with practical knowledge of how to identify someone at risk, confidently ask them about suicide and link them to life-saving resources. * Some professions may attain CPD credits for attending this training.
