Trusted by professionals yet learnable by anyone, ASIST is the only training workshop of its kind.  Updated continually to reflect new knowledge, LivingWorks ASIST has been empowering people to provide skilled, life-saving interventions for more than 35 years.  Two knowledgeble, supportive trainers will guide you through the course to encourage comfort and safety as you learn to provide for a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan to keep someone alive.

ASIST is a 2-Day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid teaching participants to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide and how to work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. 
ASIST is a resource for the whole community. It helps people apply suicide first-aid in many settings: with family, friends, co-workers, and teammates, as well as formal care-giving roles. In the course of the two-day workshop, ASIST participants learn to: 
• Understand the ways personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions. 
• Provide guidance and suicide first-aid to a person at risk; discuss suicide in a direct manner with someone at risk. 
• Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to implement it with a person at risk of suicide. 
• Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources, be able to list types of resources available to a person at risk, including themselves. 
• Recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention and includes life promotion and self-care for caregivers.

A scientifically proven intervention model, ASIST helps build regional networks of trained caregivers who can support each other and use common language to approach suicide and safety. ASIST is only provided by certified ASIST LivingWorks Trainers.
