Become a SUICIDE ALERT HELPER

Co-sponsored by Halton Quality Connection (HQC) and Norval United Church (NUC)

Suicide Alertness For Everyone – helps keep our community SAFE!

Learn four basic steps to recognize persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them with suicide helping resources.

This three-hour training can help you make a difference.

Why come to safeTALK?

Most people with thoughts of suicide invite help. Often these opportunities are missed, dismissed, or avoided - leaving people more alone and at greater risk. SafeTALK training prepares you to help by using TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe) to identify and engage people with thoughts of suicide, then connect them with further help.

Who should attend safeTALK?

Training in safeTALK skills is for everyone who wants to help prevent suicide: retail staff, front line workers, clergy, volunteers, parents, coaches, teachers, youth (over age 14) and law enforcement/EMS professionals.

Anyone, who wants to be a suicide alert helper!

Canada’s own Living Works created safeTALK training as a brief, affordable, and internationally recognized approach to save lives.
