Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
ASIST 11 Workshop English - 2 Day

Are you expected to help people in crisis or who have challenges in life?

Learn how to comfortably and competently work with those who are feeling desperate, hopeless, and thinking of suicide. Conversations with those at risk of suicide require skill and collaboration. Safety plans are critical to keeping those at risk of suicide safe in case mental health services are delayed or are not obtained. ASIST is an evidence-based 2-day intensive and interactive workshop designed to build skills in de-escalating a suicidal situation and building a safety plan.

In any given year, 14 million people experience suicidal thoughts--more than will experience symptoms of a heart attack. Just as "CPR" skills make physical first aid possible, ASIST builds advanced skills to help build hope and safety – skills that anyone working in a helping role or with higher risk populations needs.

This is an ideal training for faith leaders, CIT/law enforcement officers, mental health and substance use providers, school counselors, medical professionals, correction staff, teachers, coaches, veteran support staff, social workers, parents and community volunteers.
